Broadband

Overview

A crucial aspect of current federal and state policies is that broadband facilities be widely deployed and available either by fiber or via licensed or unlicensed wireless providers.  We've been assisting broadband providers for more than 30 years navigate their entry into new markets and current federal and state broadband policies create a range of new opportunities.  We help providers understand the scope and manage the details of the evolving regulatory/privacy/security frameworks for broadband offerings, including guidance on complying with, and anticipating changes to, the FCC's Internet rules regulating retail broadband offerings, managing the relationship between broadband providers and edge providers, leveraging universal service, BEAD and other federal subsidy programs to promote broadband expansion.   We offer practical advice on applying for, implementing and overseeing broadband grants.  On the back end, we assist with regulatory reviews and audits, including appeals where grants have been denied.

Whether the issue is accessing utility poles for a build out, the sufficiency of a consumer broadband label, negotiating a contract for facilities or services access, or conferring on how best to approach FCC broadband mapping and other filing requirements, we can help.
